Tool Roll

£200.00

Please note: these pictures are examples, each of these are slightly different, but function the same.

Or Kneedlecase, as I have been writing in my notes.

37cm x 17cm when unrolled, not including strap.

12cm x 17cm x 6cm when rolled.

These were originally designed to hold a set of interchangeable knitting needles, but current uses that I am aware of include: crochet hooks, artist travel kits, and woodworking tool storage.

I found that a lot of fabric cases are very soft and slippy, sometimes leading to lost or missing needles. Leather naturally has a some grip, but this is designed to be extra secure - you would be hard pressed to lose needles from this. There are three pockets behind the needle slots, for cables and other notions.

Designed to be as compact as possible; when rolled, they look a little like an old fashioned book.

It is designed to hold a 3mm-10mm set of interchangeable cable needles, but if you prefer only smaller needles and have many different sets, you can just stuff as many as you can fit in there.

Thank you to Katt of @heather.hops on instagram for her initial requests and suggestions, and then for testing it out!

These pieces are entirely hand cut, glued, and stitched by myself.

They are lightly oiled to condition them, which also brings out the imperfections in the leather. I do not avoid these, as i think they have character. You can oil them further if you want to darken the colour; I use hempseed oil, but any kitchen oil such as olive or sunflower seed oil will also work. Simply rub generously into the leather with a piece of fabric; note that if applied unevenly, it will even out over a few hours. Your leather will darken naturally over time, ageing nicely, especially if out in the sun.
