Folded Cardholders
Please note: these pictures are examples, each of these are slightly different, but function the same.
They will comfortably fit several cards in each pocket, or notes or receipts. I use mine everyday - contactless payment works through them, but be careful you don’t have more than one such card in there.
11cm x 15cm, folded 11cm x 7.5cm
These are made from the smaller pieces of the leather, once I’ve cut out the larger planned bags. I try to cut so that any open space will let me eek out a main piece, while the inner pockets are made using raw edged pieces which would otherwise be considered unusable, in order to produce as little waste as possible from the side of leather. This means that each of these cardholders are completely unique. Folded, they fit nicely in pockets and in the palm of your hand.
These pieces are entirely hand cut, glued, and stitched by myself.
They are lightly oiled to condition them, which also brings out the imperfections in the leather. You can oil them further if you want to darken the colour; I use hempseed oil, but any kitchen oil such as olive or sunflower seed oil will also work. Simply rub generously into the leather with a piece of fabric. Your leather will darken naturally over time, ageing nicely, especially if out in the sun.
